Story: The Dark Knight is an excellent story that supersedes the comic book genre, and it is one of the best crime dramas in recent history. This film has something for everyone: action, love, drama, and comic book characters. The Dark Knight is truly a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. 9/10

Cinematography: Christopher Nolan often uses breathtaking set pieces and this film is no exception. The Dark Knight not only has beautiful set pieces, but the film is shot in such a breathtaking manner. Cinematography is a category that Nolan has always proven strong in. 8/10

Characterization: The characterization in this film is superb. Heath Ledger was an outstanding Joker. Portraying both a menacing and memorable villain, Ledger was not alone in his outstanding performance. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman also put on an unforgettable show. 9./10

Conclusion: The Dark Knight is one of the best dramas of the past decade. Both superbly written and shot, this film stands as one of Christopher Nolan’s best.
