Superman was born Kal-El of Krypton son of Jor-El. His father, Jor-El a scientist of Krypton sent his son to earth to be saved from Kryptonian destruction. As fate would have it, Kal-el landed in a small farm in Kansas, where he would be raised by the Kents. His new parents would give him the name Clark. Clark grew up in the town of Smallville, Kansas. As Clark got older it became apparent that he had special gifts. These gifts were like curses to Clark; they limited his ability to interact with others. His hearing was too acute, his vision was too sharp. He had no way of controlling his new found powers. It was at this stage in life that his parents told him the truth about his excursion to earth. They explained to Clark that they were not his real parents and that they had found him in a space ship. In this space ship, Clark found a video that had footage of his father. His father explained the abilities that Clark would have on earth. Clark saw an intriguing symbol on his father’s shirt. His father told him that he was to be a savior, a guardian of this planet. Clark took this to heart. Wearing the peace symbol of Krypton, Clark began his fight against the injustice of our world as Superman.
